Capraita circumdata is a flea beetle occurring in eastern North America; from southern Quebec and Illinois south to Alabama and Georgia. A small beetle (3.5-5 mm); the elytra is oblong-oval, glossy brownish-black with yellow margin; the antennae are slender; legs yellowish or reddish brown. A generalist species feeding on petals, bracts, and leaves of Aquifoliaceae, Betulaceae, Bignoniaceae, Caprifoliaceae, Cornaceae, Fagaceae, Lamiaceae, Oleaceae, Portulacaceae, Scrophulariaceae, etc. Common from April through July.
